Gary Platek has been working in the field of visual effects since 1977. Raised in Newhall, California, he enrolled at California Institute of the Arts. By chance, he discovered the laser. This has been his active medium since. While at Cal Arts, he held more than 10 one man shows. By inventing new techniques, he has been able to achieve beautiful images.

Gary' s work is creating abstract visuals and placing them into "scenes", where they become something, maybe realistic, or hyper-real, that tricks the observer. Gary has spent a great deal of time in the dark, as most of his work is created there.
